The second report on the state of the EU Digital Decade (2023-2030) is published! It calls for a successful digital transformation for all.
This report highlights key initiatives:

The EU has already made significant progress:
šŖ Digital infrastructure: Progress towards full 5G coverage, very high capacity networks and targets for semiconductors and quantum computing.
šŖ Digital transformation of businesses: Growing adoption of cloud, big data and AI by SMEs, with an increase in the number of unicorns.
šŖ Digital skills: Improving basic digital skills in the population and increasing training of ICT specialists.
šŖ Digital public services: Enhanced access to electronic health services and electronic identifiers.
SMEs are at the heart of this transformation. They face major challenges, such as:
1ļøā£ The need to rapidly adopt digital technologies to remain competitive.
2ļøā£ The integration of cloud, big data and AI into their processes.
3ļøā£ The need to train and retain qualified talent.
4ļøā£ Securing digital infrastructures to protect sensitive data.
The report calls on Member States to step up their efforts to align their national roadmaps with the ambitions of the Digital Decade program. It highlights the importance of international cooperation to ensure European businesses have access to third-country markets and to secure cross-border data flows.
