Firewall and Stealth Mode on Mac: the two security settings you should enable right now

The ZDNet article reminds us of the importance of enabling the firewall and stealth mode on Macs. I've been doing that for a long time. What about you?

In business, it's a constant balancing act between protection and agility:

The Firewall (Blocking in the office): It filters incoming access. "Plug & Play" is a thing of the past; you must manually approve each new tool or network printer or risk being blocked.

Stealth Mode (ideal for travel): It ignores diagnostic pings. A hacker on the train station's Wi-Fi can't see you (risk = zero). The downside: your IT provider can no longer see your machine to push critical updates.

💻 And on PC?

The same logic applies to Windows Defender. Stealth mode is achieved by choosing the "Public Network" profile or, for strict isolation, by blocking ICMP requests (pings) in the advanced rules of the firewall.

In business, these settings should not be left to chance: challenge your IT provider to precisely align the security level of your firewalls with the real needs of your mobile and office-based users.
